Short trail that wanders through pine forests along Butte Creek. There are two waterfalls along the trail. Upper Butte falls is a 35 ft drop from an overhang. Lower Butte falls is a 85 ft cascading waterfall.
From Scotts Mills, OR travel out of town heading SE on Crooked Finger Rd. After about 9 miles, road will turn to gravel. Continue for an additional 2 miles and then turn left onto gravel road with signs marked for Rudy Lake and Butte Lake Campgrounds. Trailhead is well marked and located off to the left of the road after about 2 miles.
